Exploring Minimalism in a 38m2 Apartment Setting

by Sarah

Using monochromatic main colors and minimalist interior design gives the small apartment a gentle and delicate beauty.

Owning a small apartment in Stockholm city (Sweden), Lena knows clearly what to do to have a comfortable and pleasant living space. There are two key factors that create that: the interior and the main color scheme.

Due to limited space, Lena only chose essential furniture items with a minimalist style to place inside the small apartment. They meet daily needs well, while ensuring that they do not make the apartment cramped.

The main color scheme more or less affects the living space of the apartment. Lena’s beige colors are skillfully combined with many different shades to create enough highlights, making the apartment not look too monotonous. At the same time, the gentle beige color is also a factor that helps create the elegant and sophisticated beauty of this small apartment.

The small apartment is divided into 2 rooms, a bedroom and a common room. The common room is a space combining the living room, dining room and kitchen. I thought this would be a messy room, but it wasn’t. All you see is a pleasant space and everything cleverly and delicately arranged.

Nothing much, the living room is marked by the appearance of a comfortable, soft sofa set, combined with a transparent glass tea table. This small resting corner looks more impressive with decorations carefully selected by Lena, from wall paintings, decorative chandeliers, carpets and wall mirrors. If you are observant, you will discover that these decorative items all possess flexible, soft curves, adding a pleasant feeling to the resting area inside this apartment.

The kitchen area looks much different from all other living spaces in the apartment. The combination of white and brown colors gives the cooking area a cozy, clean feeling. The secret for Lena to have such an impressive looking kitchen is also due to the scientific and neat arrangement. The storage cabinet system and display cabinets are all cleverly used by her, hiding the clutter and showing off her favorite kitchen utensils.

Located opposite the main kitchen is the dining area. Placed next to the window, the dining table is a place that always receives the first rays of sunlight of the day. Because of that, the feeling of sitting here enjoying a meal also becomes much more interesting and wonderful. Because of its good light source, this small corner is also used by Lena as a reading and working corner at home.

It can be said that the dining area is not too large, but in terms of impression, it is highly appreciated. First of all, Lena’s interesting choice of dining table set. Compact round dining table, saving space. Comes with the dining table are chairs with creative shapes that make anyone feel excited.

Beautiful small bedroom with a very pleasant and comfortable decorated atmosphere. Beige color is still used as the main color in bedroom design. Besides, Lena also cleverly arranged small accessories such as decorative paintings, flower vases, and green plant pots to make the bedroom not boring but on the contrary very lively and impressive.

A plus point for a small apartment, making it an ideal living space is also because the small outdoor balcony design is very chill. The balcony is used by Lena both as a small garden and as an outdoor resting place every weekend. Perhaps, the feeling of peace and relaxation that the apartment brings is the reason why its owner does not want to leave the house on weekends.
